Q: I enjoy the Silva Newsletter - always - and this last copy with the inspiring success stories was great.

Many items were mentioned of success, however one in particular, of someone who had won a lottery, was not.

I play the lottery every week. My express purpose is to win and help my daughter and her three deaf children. She is overtaxed and overburdened. I have two other children I would like to help. This lottery money would go in many helpful, constructive directions.

A: Thanks for writing, and for your kind comments. We do not have any mental techniques for winning a lottery. If we did, we'd all go out and win lotteries, then we'd teach classes to show everyone else how to win. That's impossible, of course - if a million people won the lottery, they'd only get $80 each!

Winning at life

Jose Silva won some money in a lottery once, but he wasn't trying to.

He'd never even played the lottery before!

He feels that that was just one of the ways that higher intelligence got some funds to him to help him continue his research and continue helping people. He received money and other kinds of help in many other ways as well.

Mr. Silva does have a formula for attracting good things to you, including money:

He has always felt that if you are doing what you were sent here to do - helping to correct problems - and you stay centered, and you also keep in mind what your needs are (plus a little bit more), then you will receive everything you need to keep going, plus a little bit more.

His favorite formula is:

Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven (which we interpret to mean to center yourself at the alpha brain wave level), then function within God's righteousness (use the MentalVideo to find out what higher intelligence sent you here to do, and then go do it), and (then... after you do those two things) all else will be added unto you.

Most people do it in reverse, as you are doing. They program to get something so that then they can use it to help people. But the preceeding formula - which Mr. Silva found in the Bible - instructs us to do what we were sent here to do and then "all else" will be added unto us.

He points out that even animals take care of their own family. What makes human beings human, he says, is that they help others as well as their own families.

Serving humanity

Mr. Silva is a great example of this. He raised ten children, yet he still found time to help hundreds of people with the holistic faith healing techniques he was researching and learning about, as well as to teach his System to everyone who came to him seeking to learn.

He continued doing this for 22 years without ever accepting a penny. He would not even let people reimburse him for his expenses, such as gasoline and bridge tolls when he drove across into Mexico to help people.

Have you ever noticed how everybody promises that if they win the lottery, they will go out and do good works with the money? So how does higher intelligence know who to help? Mr. Silva says that you have to look at what people have done - not their good intentions, but what they actually do to help correct problems. Their track record.

Those people who are helping to correct the most problems - who are helping the most people - are the ones who have earned the extra help from the "other side," he says. He points to Bible passages that say things like, "Faith without works is dead," and "By their fruits ye shall know them."

Earning your keep

His philosophy in business has always been to give outstanding value, and to expect to be fairly compensated in return.

He spent 22 years researching the mind and human potential in order to help his own children, yet he gave freely to everyone who came to him for help, and never accepted any compensation for this help.

Then he tried to give all of his research to the church, to the schools, and even to the US government. But he was too far ahead of his time and they all turned him down.

He finally got the message that the "other side" wanted him to market it commercially, that this would be the best way to take it to a lot of people, and it would also provide him with some compensation for all the work he did.

So, as you can see, his own experience, his observation of other people, and the research he conducted on the subject, all indicate that the best way to attain the things we want, is to correct problems.

The more problems we correct, the more people we help, the more compensation we will receive.
